Welcome to our May newsletter, trusty sailors and friends, all over our beautiful planet
I don’t know why, but May is my least favorite month. It’s probably because back in my school days (1914!), I used to hate getting out of my toasty, warm bed to slop through the rain and puddles to get to a classroom. It’s such an “in-between”, long month that I am still not impressed when May rolls around.
In the Caribbean, hurricane season is looming, and the question is always what, and more importantly where, is best to protect your boat. Not being an expert by any means, I enclose a link from the latest Caribbean Compass that I found interesting (they ARE the experts!).
Across the ocean and into the Med, where so many cruisers are headed (lucky you!), I found a fabulous article from Navilly: the top marinas in various European countries for 2025, rated by cruisers and sailors. I listed them separately to make it easier to find the location you might be interested in.

Back home in not-so-sunny South Africa, boat life continues, i.e., maintenance, more maintenance, and then even more maintenance! You know the drill: BOAT = “Bring On Another Thousand!”
Happy sailing to those lucky enough to be on the water somewhere.
Captain Mike and Pirate Wench, Nikki.
